Oil Magnate Femi Otedola Donates ₦4 Billion to Augustine University for Engineering Faculty Expansion

Business magnate and philanthropist Femi Otedola has announced a ₦4 billion donation to Augustine University, marking a major milestone in the institution’s development and his continued commitment to education and youth empowerment.

Otedola, who serves as the Chancellor of Augustine University, revealed the donation in a statement shared on his social media, noting that the funds will go toward the construction of a new Electrical and Electronics Engineering block.

According to him, the project represents the second phase of the Dame Doja Otedola Faculty of Engineering, a tribute to his late mother and a reflection of his belief in education as a tool for national transformation.

“As Chancellor of Augustine University, I am proud to present my ₦4 billion donation for the construction of a new Electrical and Electronics Engineering block. This marks the second phase of the Dame Doja Otedola Faculty of Engineering — a tribute to my beloved mother and to the power of education to transform lives,” Otedola wrote.

He emphasized that Nigeria’s future lies in the brilliance of its young people, urging continuous investment in educational institutions that nurture innovation, discipline, and leadership.

The new engineering block will further strengthen Augustine University’s position as one of Nigeria’s leading institutions for technical education and research, while reinforcing Otedola’s legacy as one of Africa’s foremost education philanthropists.
